The Builder app
Builder is Uptown Safety’s web app for supervisors, live at app.uptownsafety.com. It runs in a browser on a phone or a computer, and is organized into three main tabs.
TWI
- myJIB: each supervisor’s job breakdowns, searchable alongside the company’s, with open, share, PDF and duplicate.
- + New JIB: name a task to get an AI-drafted first breakdown, or talk the job through out loud. The supervisor reviews, edits or rejects every step.
- TWI Card: the Job Instruction pocket card (the 4 steps and the breakdown sheet definitions) always on hand.
Library
- Company JIBs marked as the company standard, which supervisors can pull into their own myJIB.
- Company files in folders, searchable together with checklists and JIBs.
- SDS online search: look up a safety data sheet by product, maker or product number, or by photographing the label, then save the PDF to the SDS folder.
- Completed inspections filed automatically by year and month.
Checklists
- Run inspections from company checklists, or start from a built-in template that admins can copy and adapt.
- Pass / Fail / N/A answers by default, renamable per checklist, with photos on any item.
- My Open Items: failed items stay on the inspector’s list until they are closed.
- Sign and finish to produce a branded PDF; search past inspections by site, checklist or inspector.
Role-scoped access
Supervisor, admin and super-admin roles. Company admins invite users and set the company logo.
Pinned favorites
Each user can pin up to 4 modules to the tab bar or phone dock.
Phone and computer
Tabs across the top on a computer, a thumb dock on a phone.
Shared with the crew
Finished breakdowns go out as a PDF, a printout, a link or a QR code.

Good to know
- Builder sits alongside OSHA 10/30 and your own hazard assessments: those cover hazard awareness, while this course teaches supervisors how to teach a task safely.
- The app does not replace your hazard assessments, manufacturer instructions or applicable OSHA rules.
